Everyone involved with ALP has ‘carried a bag’ in their careers.

We are salespeople who have had to deal with the frustrations of prospecting and qualifying first hand. We understand how tedious and exhausting the process can be. We understand that ‘cold calling’ not only is not fun (and generally not very productive), but that done well, it also provides for rejections coming even more frequently per hour.

This tool was originally developed in the early ’90s in Access to help the sales team be able to get through the necessary ‘grunt work’ of qualifying more quickly and with less stress.

We hoped to let our team just focus on the calls and get in the proper mindset, so they could make call after call without having to reset their frame of mind with every call.

Early ALP version kept us focused

One of the major ideas is that we all recognized that minimizing context switching, i.e. looking up a lead, creating a record, setting a call time, making the call, writing the date, time and a quick note indicating that we didn’t get through and then scheduling the next step both took a lot of time and didn’t allow us to ‘get in a groove’. ALP handles all the bookkeeping aspects, so you, the sales person, make call after call. The computer knows the date and time, with a single button-click, it knows what note to write and when to reschedule. So, ALP, let’s the human do what only a human can do, and has the computer do whatever the computer can do.

We made the INC. 200 3 years in a row.

Since then

We have come a long way from Access through Client/Server with Visual Basic and SQLServer to our current web-based version written in PHP, Javascript and MySQL. We are continuing to develop this product to help develop the most effective salespeople ever.
